Class Title: Field Maintenance Worker

General Purpose
To assist in maintaining the function of the ballparks as well as increase the beauty and
safety of the area through repairs and improvements.
Specific Duties
- Measure and line ball fields in preparation for all City sponsored baseball and softball events
- Repair fences and other areas related to the ball field under the direction of the Field Supervisor
- Maintain, repair, and improve the field office facility under the direction of the Field Supervisor
- Communicating maintenance and personnel issues to the Field Maintenance Supervisor in a clear and timely manner.
- Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends, with notice.
- Perform related duties as required.
Reporting Relationships
Supervision received: Works under the immediate direction of the Field Maintenance Supervisor and general supervision of the Recreation Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to work under the direction of Field Supervisor
- Ability to work in a self-directed manner
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to work weekends as needed
- Any applicant considered for hire must successfully pass a drug and alcohol test before assuming job-related duties
- All applicants subject to background and criminal investigation
Preferred Qualifications
- Grounds maintenance experience
- Knowledge of Baseball / Softball
- Familiarity with hand tools
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Tasks may entail muscular strain, including walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, and lifting all in 100+ degree heat. Talking, hearing, and seeing are essential to performing job requirements. Common eye, hand, and finger dexterity is required for most essential functions.
